rose sunbeam
I did this shoot on a typical London day in late autumn where the light was changing every two seconds from heavy raincloud to low level sunlight. Taking photographs in this kind of environment always seems to be an absolute nightmare and it's very easy to start panicking! But then the sky clears for just a moment giving you the perfect slice of sunlight, falling on the model just how you want it to. It's moments like this that make you feel like the shot was just meant to happen.

louise
A sneak peak of the portraiture session I had with my oldest and dearest friend of 21 years. Here are just a couple of shots from the shoot which involved birds, pouting and eating roses. More shots to follow!

christmas is coming...
Still life experiment looking at dramatic lighting techniques to enhance texture using one light set-up. I think fir cones are quite characteristic anyway so they were actually quite fun to shoot. Easy to direct as well!

a screen delight - fourteen actors acting
An absolutely wonderful production for the New York Times that incorporates all the things I love - film, lighting and the glorious music of Owen Pallett. Enjoy!

split down the middle
Model: Andrea Sara
Here are some shots that I did a couple of months ago whilst studying. Slow shutter speeds can be great for blurring movement for action shots but I absolutely love the haunting stillness that can be created too.

Vogue's Fashion Night Out
Thursday 8th September 2011 saw London come alive for Vogue's Fashion Night Out. I popped into Shanghai Tang for champagne and fashion fortune cookies before heading to Harvey Nichols where they were serving 'Queue Barge' cocktails out of jam jars and my favourite orange Venetian drink, Spritz. Charity t-shirts could be bought and then customized by designers such as Louise Gray, as well as receiving complimentary beauty treatments, eyelash extensions and lip transfers. Top all this off with your very own Mr.Whippy ice cream with flake and you really do have one fabulous night!
