Introducing.....Tuesday's Lovin'

So I was thinking the other day that Tuesday is a bit of a non-day. Especially when you compare it to some of its more exciting days-of-the-week counterparts. Monday's bold and arrogant, he leads the rest of the week, in spite of being universally hated. Wednesday's got mid-week power at his disposal, he decides whether your good week turns to disaster or your bad week turns a corner. Thursday's the new Friday. Friday's a floozy. SATURDAY! Sunday cuddles you and makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside. But what about poor old Tuesday? He falls in Monday's shadow, he hides behind Wednesday's might.

So I've decided to change this and make Tuesday a day of Lovin'. No, nothing sexual. Tuesday's the day when I celebrate something this world has to offer for no reason whatsoever. Just to bathe in its sweet loveliness. The other days of the week won't know what's hit them.

And so, for this first instalment, I introduce to you.....Tuesday's Lovin'.....BAGELS

Perfect Friday night entertainment at The Wapping Project last night. A solo exhibition of work from Paolo Roversi's Paris studio, concentrating on work inspired by his muse Guinevere Van Seenus. Clean, simple, elegant and utterly delicious.

bright lights, big city

I've recently been looking at neon lighting in my personal work. In all busy metropolises such as London, the neon light is used to attract attention, communicate a message and invite you in. They are used to advertise a commodity when the sun's gone down. They signify 'open' when everything else is closed. Food, music, sex....anything that you want after dark, the neon light will help you to find it. Not only am I interested in the concept itself but in the sense of movement that surrounds these lights. There are of course some places where the neon light is accompanied with the hustle and bustle of the city. But I'm more interested in the silence - the calm out on the street when everyone's going to bed and there are only a few people still out on the street. A time when the streets are sleeping yet these places, and their neon lights flicker on through the night.
